After three months. Even though the exams are not over yet, this has started to creep into everyone's mind, and beginning to take hold as the key phrase in every conversation in the days to come. Between those boring battles with estimations and quantity surveying and what not, the dreams about the future find its way into the combined psyche and conversation of the group during the group study scene. The books moved aside, neatly stacked to one side, the players lay down on their elbows and begin their journey, into the near future.
So where does this future take them?
Almost always it involves the C word : Chennai. That is because in every group there happens to be atleast one of the 200 odd students placed into CTS. They are apprehensive about the heat of chennai, but still excited about the relaxed alledgely relaxed environment of CTS. Who is going to stay with whom, who are incompatible, who are certainly compatible, starting on the right foot, avoiding a bad situation, deciding how your future days are going to be spent, no angle left unanalysed and or seriously debated upon. So the dreams come true > Mid August.
Then comes the not so populated yet significant M; Mysore. Thats probably where the Infy guys are going to be placed. There too similar, but simpler discussions and dreaming take place. The doubts and trepidations are simpler here due to the diminished population and somewhat lack of any choice in the matter of future colleagues and flatmates. And dreams come true > Mid July
Then comes the others like me and anjana in Wipro > with the least idea where our futures are going to take us. Bangalore is the dream, and a 3 month certainity. But Cochin might be where we might get stuck at. Even so, the 3 month training in Bangalore is exciting enough a prospect to keep us on our toes. Choice of room mates severely restricted with Nistelrooy being the only known compatriot for me as of now. Dreams come true > Definitely after Oct :(
The remaining guys, sprewn out in companies like Accenture ( dates in july i think), IBM ( after oct :)) ), MBT, USTech, Suntech , begin their journey with similar doubts and uncertainities about people, places and the dates. Then comes the Tech guys; the L&T , Shobha, Simplex, Condor and Truine. Exciting jobs, exciting field work. God I might miss out a lot. Dreams come true > From july
So what all do you buy, what all do you stock. None of us day schis have an idea. What do we do with all the money. That, I dont think will be a problem!!
